What a high-end website is actually made of — and why Vorluno measures every one

HIGH-END.// WHAT IT IS ACTUALLY MADE OF
The word HIGH-END set in dots of violet, magenta and orange over paper

«High-end» is not a look. It is a set of decisions you can check: what moves and why, what the page weighs, how it behaves on a phone, what happens at rest. Here is the checklist we hold our own site to.

Most of what gets sold as premium web design is a template with a bigger font. You can tell in the first scroll: everything animates, nothing has a reason, and the phone version is a different, sadder site. We build from Panamá for clients anywhere, and the only way to compete with studios ten times our size is to be measurably better on the things that are measurable. So we measure them.

1. Motion is in the spec, not in the taste

Every transition on vorluno.dev has a duration, a curve and a frame-rate gate written down before it was built. The stack's entrance is 900 ms on an expo curve, 30 ms apart per card; the cursor follows at 350 ms; the tunnel and the rooms hold sixty frames a second on a real GPU. When a number fails, the effect changes — not the number. Motion you cannot specify is motion you cannot repeat.

2. At rest, zero

A page that keeps drawing when nothing moves is burning the visitor's battery to look busy. Every animated surface here keeps a counter of frames it actually wrote, and the test suite asserts that, settled and untouched, the counter stays still. It is the least glamorous rule on this list and the one that separates a demo from a product.

3. The phone gets the product

We refused the fallback where the spatial site becomes a list under 900 pixels. The stack, the tunnel, the rooms, the route and the funnel are the same on a phone — composed for a taller window, from measured heights, so nothing overlaps regardless of copy length. If a client sees the site on their phone first, they should see the site.

4. Real content, real numbers

Nothing on this site is a placeholder. The videos were recorded by our own render engine from the live products. Every figure — 158 policies, 50 probes, 2.8 seconds — has a source you could ask us for. A number without a source is decoration, and we do not do decoration.

5. Accessible by construction

The tunnel's letters are textures, but the text is in the DOM. The decorative canvases are hidden from screen readers; the headings are real headings; the menu is inert when closed and returns focus when it opens and shuts. Accessibility is not a pass we run at the end — it is what makes the fancy version safe to ship.

That last number is the honest one. The opening sequence holds the pieces back for four seconds on purpose; Lighthouse counts that against us, and we keep it, because a site that opens like a film is the point. High-end is knowing which numbers to lose.

One studio, one bet: build it the way we'd want it built for us.
